Named one of the “100 Best Golf Resorts in North America” by Links Magazine,  Fripp Island boasts two incredible golf courses with classic layouts and distinct personalities.
(Both courses require soft spikes or spikeless shoes.)

PGA champion Davis Love III's first signature course was named "one of the top 10 new courses you could  play" when it was first built in 1998  by Golf Magazine and was selected for a similar top 10 design honor by The Golfer.
There is a good reason. Fripp Island's newest course is lovingly carved from land so exotic that it was used as a movie setting for scenes in both Forrest Gump and Disney's The Jungle Book.

Ocean Creek is framed by what Jacques Cousteau has called some of the world's most fertile and pristine salt marshes. Five holes are edged by marsh, while another six incorporate interior wetlands, preserved and connected to the course through a network of wooden walkways and bridges.

Four rolling dune lines provide another key design element. Some of these ridges climb as high as 15 feet as they weave across fairways.

Like the critics, you'll find Davis Love III's Ocean Creek a timeless salute to golf's best traditions.
Fripp Island's oceanfront prize, designed by George W. Cobb, the talented design consultant for Augusta National.
Recently the classic seaside course was revamped to offer even more dramatic views of the Atlantic and a keener sense of playing an authentic links design. New features include elevated tees and undulating dune perimeters on many holes.

Though just 6,590 yards from the blue tees, this ocean front gem plays longer due to its sea-meets-land links design. Water comes into direct play on 10 holes. Prevailing ocean breezes always present a challenge, especially on the four holes that reach the Atlantic and Fripp Inlet. Well protected greens also require well-placed tee shots and crisp iron play.

Visual treats are part of the fun. The seaside 18th green is one of the island's best vantage points to watch dolphin frolic. Suffice it to say that a camera would be a wise addition to your golf bag.
